Kala Eyewear is handmade in California and shown in Portland, Oregon at Eye Department. We’ve enjoyed getting to work with this eyewear collection. Here we have selected a new metal frame for Angela to showcase. Angela joined Eye Department as the Patient Care Coordinator after several years working in franchised optical shops. As a Pre-Optometry student, Angela has developed excellent eye care knowledge and has become a great asset for Eye Department patients. She is very thorough in her communication and willing to take the time to ensure patients understand their eye care needs and options. Angela is very stylish by nature and has become a fan of independent eyewear designers. In her profile photo, Angela is wearing frames Made in America by Kala Eyewear. Kala eyeglass frames are handmade in California. This Made In America frameline is as beautifully designed as they are constructed.
Kala Eyewear Bio: https://www.kalaeyewear.com/about/
Kala is well known for perfectly round eyewear. Recreating iconic frames from the past as well as designing new and unusual shapes (with a California vibe) for today’s wearer. We have a strong passion for eyewear.
Our acetate frames are handmade in California with premium, raw acetate materials imported from Japan and Italy. We cut and polish each frame by hand and have been doing so in California for more than 25 years. Our metal frames are all skillfully crafted by metallurgic artisans in a luxury factory in Japan.
The details in our designs are kept simple. Some of our metals have engraved filigree around the eyewire and bridge and others are interesting in shape. For the “Round Shape” wearers, the choices for acetate, metal, sizes and colors are the most in the eyewear industry.
